Adding an Admin on your LinkedIn Page

,

·

You have bitten the bullet and decided to delegate some of your content to your marketing team, VA, or agency. Here is how to add them as an admin on your business LinkedIn Page without handing out the password to your personal profile.

Overview of the process

  1. Navigate to your business Page
  2. Open Settings and select Manage admins
  3. Click Add admin
  4. Search for the person and choose their role

Step 1: Navigate to your business Page

Click your profile picture (the menu item titled Me) and find your business Page in the list. Select it to manage the Page.

Step 2: Open Settings and select Manage admins

Once you are on your Page, click Settings in the bottom left of the Page menu. The Settings panel loads on the right. Select Manage admins, the first option, to control who manages your Page.

Step 3: Click Add admin

A new window shows who already has access to the Page. On the right hand side, click the blue + Add admin button.

Step 4: Search for the person and choose their role

Search for the person by name, then assign their admin role. Super admin manages everything on the Page and is the only role that can edit the Page and manage other admins. Content admin posts and manages content, comments as the Page, responds to messages, and exports analytics. Analyst only views and exports analytics.

Choose the role that matches what the person actually needs to do

When choosing a role, think about what the person actually needs. Agencies often need to delegate access to their own team members, so they may request Super admin, with your assets protected by the engagement agreement between the companies. A VA usually sits between Super admin and Content admin depending on their responsibilities, and Content admin is a good fit for staff who only create and publish content. Click Save to send the invitation.

Quick tips

  • You must be connected to the person on LinkedIn, or they must follow your Page, for them to appear in the search
  • The person must accept the invitation before they get access
  • Only give Super admin to people you trust to manage access for others
  • Review Manage admins from time to time and remove anyone who no longer needs access
