The posts that appear on your News or Events page are added and edited under Posts in your website dashboard. This guide covers creating a post, working with blocks, and setting the details that control how and when it appears.
Overview of the process
- Open Posts and add or choose a post
- Edit the content
- Work with blocks
- Add new blocks
- Set the post details
- Publish
Step 1: Open Posts and add or choose a post
Go to Posts, then All Posts in the left menu. Click the Add Post button for a new post, or click the title of an existing post to edit it.

Step 2: Edit the content
Once you are in a post, the content works like a word processor. Click into the title or any paragraph and start typing.

Step 3: Work with blocks
Every piece of content is a block. Click a block and a toolbar appears above it. The first icon on the left changes the block type, so a paragraph can become a Heading, List, or Quote.

After selecting a type, the other icons offer more customisation. For example, a Heading block can be switched from H2 to H3 to create a smaller subheading.

Step 4: Add new blocks
To add a new element such as a button or image, hover over the spot you want it and a divider with a + icon appears. You can also use the + at the end of the content.

Clicking the icon shows the elements that can be added to the post.

Step 5: Set the post details
On the right of the screen are the additional details: the status, publishing date and time, URL slug, author, and more. This is also where you set the Featured Image, which becomes the thumbnail on your blog listing.

Further down the sidebar are Categories and Tags. Tick the category that fits, such as News or Event, so the post appears in the right place on your site.

Step 6: Publish
To publish a post, click the blue Publish button at the top right. If you are editing a post that is already published, the button says Update instead.
Quick tips
- Set a featured image on every post so your blog listing looks consistent
- Use headings to break up longer posts, starting at H2 since the post title is the H1
- Pick one category per post rather than ticking several
- Use Save Draft if you want to finish a post later without publishing it
